Your 8-day itinerary
After breakfast, visit Istanbul’s historic landmarks: Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque with its tilework, Topkapi Palace, the Hippodrome of Constantinople and the Grand Bazaar for a traditional shopping experience. Return to the hotel. Attraction entry tickets and visiting schedules should be confirmed in advance.
After breakfast, take a scenic Bosphorus cruise past palaces and waterfront mansions. Then visit the Spice Bazaar for spices, sweets and souvenirs, the Galata Tower area for city views, Istiklal Street for shopping and cafés, and Taksim Square. Return to the hotel and enjoy the evening at leisure.
After breakfast, check out and transfer to the airport for your domestic flight to Kayseri or Nevşehir, then to your hotel in the Cappadocia region. Depending on flight timing, explore Göreme and the surrounding valleys, the fairy chimney rock formations, the pottery workshops of Avanos (time permitting) and sunset viewpoints. A cave-style hotel can be selected as an optional upgrade.
Start early with an optional sunrise hot-air balloon ride, subject to weather and operator approval. After breakfast, spend the day at the Göreme Open-Air Museum, Paşabağ (Monks Valley), Devrent Valley and the Uçhisar Castle viewpoint, plus an underground city such as Kaymakli or Derinkuyu, depending on your route. Return to the hotel, with an optional Turkish cultural evening or traditional dinner.
After breakfast, travel towards Pamukkale using the most suitable domestic flight and ground-transfer combination for your dates. Depending on schedules, this may involve a connecting flight or a long road transfer. On arrival, visit Pamukkale’s white travertine terraces, the ancient city of Hierapolis, the ancient theatre (subject to access and time) and the scenic viewpoints over the terraces. Check in and relax. Swimming in the thermal pools depends on the rules of the facility.
After breakfast, check out and travel towards the Ephesus region. Explore the ancient city of Ephesus, the Library of Celsus, the Great Theatre and Curetes Street, and visit the House of the Virgin Mary, subject to time and the selected tour. Then continue to Kusadasi, a coastal town on the Aegean Sea. Check in and enjoy the evening at leisure.
After breakfast, subject to departure timing, check out and transfer to Izmir Airport for your onward flight. If time permits, enjoy a short walk along Kusadasi’s waterfront before you leave, with memories of Turkey’s historic cities, unique landscapes and ancient heritage.
