Your 7-day itinerary
After breakfast, continue with Colombo’s cultural sights: the Old Parliament area and colonial architecture, Beira Lake and Seema Malaka Temple, Pettah Market for local shopping and the Colombo National Museum, subject to opening hours. Take an evening stroll along Marine Drive or the Galle Face waterfront, then return to the hotel.
After breakfast, check out and drive to Kandy, Sri Lanka’s cultural capital. An optional stop at the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage can be arranged on the way, subject to timing and entry fees. In Kandy, visit Kandy Lake, the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic, the Kandy Viewpoint and the city centre markets. In the evening, enjoy an optional Kandyan cultural dance performance.
After breakfast, visit the Royal Botanical Gardens at Peradeniya and the Bahirawakanda Buddha Statue. Choose a Ceylon tea or gem museum, depending on your interest, and see the Kandy Arts and Crafts Centre. Pick up souvenirs and traditional handicrafts at the local markets, then return to the hotel.
After breakfast, check out and drive to Nuwara Eliya through the scenic hill country. On the way, visit a tea plantation and tea factory, stop at Ramboda Falls and enjoy mountain and tea garden viewpoints. On arrival, check in and enjoy the cool climate and relaxed atmosphere of Nuwara Eliya.
After breakfast, explore Nuwara Eliya, popularly known as Little England. Visit Gregory Lake for lakeside views and optional activities, the Hakgala Botanical Garden (subject to opening hours) and Victoria Park, and see the town’s colonial-style buildings. Visit a strawberry farm if open, and Lover’s Leap Waterfall subject to access and time. Return to the hotel for your final evening in the hills.
After breakfast, subject to departure timing, check out and drive to Bandaranaike International Airport for your return flight. The drive takes several hours, so an early departure is recommended depending on your flight time. Depart with memories of Sri Lanka’s coastal city, cultural heritage and tea-covered mountains.
